Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and others are increasingly becoming part of everyday life and healthcare conversations. Many fertility professionals are reporting that patients are arriving at consultations having already used AI tools to research treatment options, interpret test results, prepare questions, seek reassurance, explore their fertility journey and, in some cases, draft complaints and correspondence.
While AI may offer new opportunities for information and support, it also raises important questions regarding communication, patient expectations, misinformation, trust and the evolving nature of patient-professional interactions within fertility care.
The European Fertility Society Education Programme is conducting a short, anonymous international survey to explore how fertility professionals are experiencing the growing influence of generative AI within fertility care.
The survey takes approximately 2 minutes to complete and is open to all fertility professionals, including nurses, doctors, embryologists, counsellors, clinic managers, researchers, patient advocates, fertility lawyers, medical defence and regulatory professionals, and others working within reproductive medicine.
The aim is to capture a snapshot of professional experiences at this important moment of technological change and to inform future educational activities, presentations and publications.
